Sunday would be perfect IF

it didn’t automatically lead into Monday.

However, I chose not to dwell on the coming of Monday until after 18:00 at the earliest. 😉

Yesterday sure was nice.  Autumn weather appeared.  It was nice & cool with a decent breeze to boot.  A grand day for a family get together, to say the least.

Now, I don’t know about where y’all come from, but I tell ya…around here, we know how to put on a good meal.

Five households were involved…

One cousin cooked the chicken.  BBQ’d.  Yummm.

The other 4 households provided:  mac & cheese, slaw, potato salad, broccoli casserole, baked beans, pasta salad, sweet potato casserole, and rolls.  Oh yeah, there was also butterscotch brownies, lemon meringue pies, pound cake, “better than sex” cake (it ain’t better than sex, I promise), and caramel toffee apple bites.

Needless to say, we were all thinking about a nap after lunch.  The husband & I took a nice walk.  Saw some lunch, er, wild turkeys.  There was plenty of bullshitting and story telling and LOTS of reminiscing.

All-in-all, a great day. 

Oh, and there were enough leftovers to make cooking supper a non-issue.

Can’t beat that with a big stick.

Now, off to the grocery store soon.  Hopefully, no skunks will be involved. 😀
