Praying hard for those already affected by this totally crappy weather and in all honesty, praying hard that it flat misses my neck of the woods.

If anyone has someone specific they want prayers sent for, let me know.

And above all- Y’ALL *ALL* STAY SAFE!  OR ELSE!

My thought for the day

I’d rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I’m not.

Hate me, love me, that’s up to you.  I’m not going to become a different person or pretend to be something I’m not to make the choice easier for anyone.

As for today, Monday was a Monday for sure.  “Field trip” tomorrow & I get to go on that, so I’ll be fishing in the morning!

May Tuesday be better than Monday!

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has a very Happy Easter.

Please, don’t eat too much candy & run your blood sugar up or too many eggs and run your cholesterol up.

Stay safe & enjoy your day!

And if you’re Southern (and a GA state employee especially), enjoy your Confederate Memorial Day holiday tomorrow!

And then there’s this

Okay, I used yesterday to bitch and gripe, however, right in the middle of doing that, I realized I had a lot of high points to the week too.  (Could I have used one more comma in that sentence?  Sheesh)

Let’s see…my favorite patient of all time told me a joke.  Over the last 12 years, I never saw this man when he didn’t have at least one joke to tell.  Since he came to live with us, he hasn’t “felt” like telling a joke.  A couple of weeks ago, he told me he was almost ready to tell me one.  I’ve been hopeful.  Thursday, he motioned me over & told me his joke.  I was elated.  I danced afterwards and when I told his family, they nearly danced too.

I had a patient tell me she loved me and she meant it.

I got commended on doing a professional, efficient job in a situation that would have driven most folks to distraction.

I saw a woman walk for the first time in a year.

All that makes up for the shit of this past week.  I AM blessed.

🙂  Happy Easter weekend!

O Mi Gawd

It has been THE week from hell.  Trust me on that one, as the story is just entirely too unbelievable to even remotely try to relate.

I’ve never been so.damned.glad to see Friday roll around in my life.

I think I’ve got the cure though.  Having some friends over tomorrow afternoon, throwing some chicken on the pit, participating in some recoil therapy (hoping to wow them with my awsum shooting abilities), then we’re breaking out the beer and gonna kick back and totally chillax.

I hope to regain sanity by Sunday morning.

It’s only Wednesday? >.<

Husband found out the prison he works at is NOT closing June, 2012.

Nope, instead, they’re closing June, 2011.

Cover your eyes, I’ve got something to say about politicians and “budget balancers”…

mother fuckers.

Okay, that is out of my system.

At least by Tuesday, he found out he CAN & WILL be transferred to another facility.

It requires an extra 60 miles of driving a day, but that’s okay.

He’s losing his SGT stripes though. 😦  He’ll to back to CO II rank.

BUT, he keeps his current pay grade, so that’s pretty damned good, considering.

I’ve been working in the evenings to try to catch up paperwork that is 6 months behind.

Don’t like that at all.

But that’s overtime pay, so I won’t gripe too much about it.

Friday, wherefore art thou?

Staff Family Easter Egg hunt-bound very shortly.

The Boy is going to be the Easter Bunny.

He’s concerned about getting nailed in the nuts, thanks to what he’s seen of Easter Bunny footage on America’s Funniest Videos…

This could prove entertaining.  Pictures will follow…
