12th Day of Christmas, Part II

Since there is a flip-side to every coin & I don’t want folks thinking a nursing home is all poop & crabbiness, here is another version…this is the stuff that makes it all worthwhile, especially 12 & 1!

On the 12th day of Christmas, the nursing home gave to me

12 patients smiling

11 tales of yesteryear

10 playing checkers

9  more happy smiles

8  happy diners

7  silly gooses

6  g-tubes free-flowing

5  singing hymnssssss

4  gigglin’ girls

3  good blood sugars

2  men joking

a  great big ol’ hug & kiss

This holiday season, do yourself a favor.  Go by your local nursing home, even if you don’t have a loved one there, & see how many smiling faces you can find.  The difference YOU could make in these folks’ lives is tremendous & it doesn’t cost a thing except a few minutes of your time.

Does the Vet’s Home in Long Beach count? Or the Big LA VA Hospital, maybe.

Yup. I’d say any place where love, kindness & compassion are needed would count.

Hopefully you get more of these than the ones in the previous post!

Well NFO, I’d say they’re about equal. That’s okay though- the things on this list count double. 😉
