I Can Haz Job!

I got a job offer starting immediately after graduation.  It’s a 12 week gig, paying very good money with very little travel.

I’ll work through the first couple of weeks of December, then have the rest of December off to pursue a full-time regular job.

I think it would be fantastic to have a Christmas off with the family before I jump in head first to the working world again.

Of course, there are a couple of things they’ve got to finish before I’m *hired*. They’ve got to run their background check and I will be working until the NCLEX. If I pass, I keep working. If I don’t, I can’t work anymore until I have passed. From all the NCLEX crap I’ve done, I’m figuring I’ll pass just fine.

BTW, Our daughter got called for orientation at the nursing home. Her first job as a CNA. She’ll need the experience. With this one exception, most places around KC want a years experience at a minimum. She’ll be working evenings and weekends to allow her time for classes during the week.

It’s a start! I’m glad both of you are entering your chosen professions. All too often we end up in careers unplanned and unexpected. That can be a bit chaotic.

I talked with my niece in Illinois. She’s a radiology nurse at a major St Louis hospital. She had been a floor nurse until recently. She says her new job is great—Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM. She said she doesn’t miss being on call and working weekends and holidays.

Congrats to your daughter, Crucis! Tell her to hang in there, that won’t last forever.
