Poetic Justice Some Might Say

There has been a rash of the usual stomach bugs and horrid head colds going around here the past month or so.  It’s pretty much normal.

Take 18 people, 12 of them with at least 2 kids a piece, 15 of them with a significant other.  That’s 57 people you’re dealing with, more or less.

Point is- several folks and/or their families have been sick lately and therefore, missed several days of school as of late.

Yesterday, the teacher was jawing on us about absenteeism.  (Most folks have only missed one day)

This morning, just as I was putting on my last shoe, the phone rang.

No class- the teacher is sick.

Hmmm.

Poetic justice or karma biting?

I’m getting some garlic today. My son and DIL swear by it’s ability to help ward off the common cold or flu like sx. You are supposed to take one of the little cloves and swallow it whole. Not a whole bud, but the parts that break up when you take the garlic apart. Does that make sense? I’ll let you know if it works. I’m tired of coughing and snuffling!

When I was in school, if one of the teachers got sick, there was always another one to take their place.

We’re short on teachers and the state has implemented a hiring freeze (smart move, Georgia). No back up.

Wouldn’t know since I’m feelin’ a little peaked myself. Sneezing, running nose all morning then that terrible rumbling way down below.

    Ugh!

Sacked out for a couple of hours over lunchtime and I’m feeling a bit better now. Sure was sudden!

I’d say both Karma and Poetic Justice. If the instructor is ill, I say she needs to take some time to get elbow deep in direct patient care to build up her immunities.

As for garlic–studies have shown it to more effective for mild high blood pressure and possibly lower cholesterol. If you eat/swollow enough garlic, your sweat will smell like garlic which may keep people away so you don’t inhale their viruses etc.

    Feel better soon, Crucis!

Rho, I don’t know if you can build up immunity to dodge every bug out there. I just think it’s funny she was sorta accusing us of ditching school for fun instead of real sickness, then she winds up sick. Not haha funny, but the other kind.

Reminds me of when the insurance investigator decided our county was filing too many deer collision claims and that folks here were being fraudulent. He came to investigate and promptly hit a deer 100 feet inside the county line. He turned around and went back to Atlanta. 😉

    NFO- You know it! 😀

And Karma is sometimes a fickle master of one’s fate.
