Clean as A Whistle

Going on vacation means something odd around here-

It means the house will be more than its usual clean.

The kitchen has been scrubbed thoroughly, the refrigerator has been cleaned, the microwave is spotless.  My bathrooms (will before I leave) gleam.  For once, all the beds will be made.  (When the husband works nights and sleeps all day, there’s not much point in making my bed up for a few hours.)

Why do I clean before I leave on vacation you might ask?  Because my Mother and Father will be here every day.  They keep an eye on things, feed our outdoor animals and check to make sure the freezer, fridge and a/c still work.  They also come over and investigate after thunderstorms since we’ve both had so much damage due to lightning running in on things.

I CANNOT let my parents come here and let them snoopingly find something green growing in the fridge or ring around the potty.  I’d never hear the end of it.

Now, as to thieving ideas some might have, I want to make the following declarations.  The only “real” jewelry I have will be traveling with me.  Everything else in the jewelry box is costume (albeit *good* costume) jewelry.  The guns have been gathered up and taken to the safe at Mom’s & Dad’s.  Our t.v.s are neither HDTV nor digital capable.  The only game systems are worn out original Play Stations and a Nintendo 64.  The phone has 900 numbers disabled.  If you still feel the need to break in, please wipe your feet and flush the commode should you use it.  Also, wash up any dishes you might dirty up.  Touch my computer and you will die a slow, horrid death when I find you.  And.I.Will.Find.You.

Now, back to the washing, ironing and cleaning.  Woooooooo!
