Christmas Is Coming…
I’ve been moonlighting for quite awhile now at a home decorating store in town. Moonlighting is fixing to turn into full-time here soon.
I really love the job and last Friday marked our first day open to the public for this season. I’m amazed at how many folks are already shopping for Christmas items…well, not really considering I’ve bought Christmas decor in August.
Anyway, here’s some of what I’ve been doing the past few weeks.
The “GingerBread” tree- all things gingerbread and cooking-
The “Peacock” tree. Decorated in teal & funky blue and yes, peacock ornaments. Not my style of Christmas decoration, but to each his own. I guess. ?
One of my favorite’s, the Children’s tree-
Another of my favorites- the Bird tree (but notice that evil, evil looking owl!)
Unfortunately though, I didn’t do the top of this one. Everybody else loves it, but it’s not my thing.
Then, there is the ever popular “Hunting” tree. Another hideous tree in my opinion. Ornaments that say “I hunt white tail all year” or ornaments shaped like beer cans bearing the words “Beer. Helping millions to have a sex life” just don’t say Christmas to me. Neither do the shotgun shell light bulbs, but different strokes for different folks I reckon-
Speaking of not saying Christmas, here’s the Ballerina Tree. PINK? Blech!!-
And if you’re decorating your tropical get-away, we have the Tropical Tree-
What themed collection of trees would be complete without a Santa Tree?-
Then, if drinking is one of your favorite pasttimes, maybe the Wine Tree would be more your style-
Of course, Christmas is really more about the Nativity-
But of course you have to have glitz and glamour, so there’s the Radko ornaments. Most of them cost more than an entire week’s worth of groceries at my house-
I wonder if I’ll be hating Christmas by December?

You have been working so hard!! No wonder you are pooped! I love the green tree (of course!) and the children’s tree the best. And I do agree….the feathers at the top…..bit of a goose struck directly by bomb sort of feel…..but still…..you can tell it happened at Christmas time!

I just don’t even have all the words to express how thrilled I was to find your post surfing around (I am a Christmas geek , as you can see by all the Christmas posts on my crafts blog). Anyway, by your icon, I’m assuming you are a southern girl too? (I ask because I live outside Atlanta proper). And if you are a southern girl, then that must mean your shop is close and therefore, I can roadtrip to a Christmas shop and get my fix in (it’s an addiction…I wish there were pills to help. I really do). So are ya anywhere in my neck of the woods? Nice job on the trees!

Sorry – had to add a PS.
Yes. The bird tree barfed. And hard.

Kattitudes- used to live right outside of Atlanta myself in Conyers. Now, I’m about 1.5 hours due east of there in Washington, GA.
The store is open Mon-Sat, 10-5:30. If you’d like more information, let me know.

Oh goodness, I see a road trip. My parents are in Conyers and my sister is in Social Circle, so wander a wee bit further out would not be difficult at all. I did a quick glance for an email and didn’t see one, so if you would be willing to send me info to kat at kattitudes – I would love to torture my little sis by subjecting her to Christmas early
. Thanks! (And I’m really glad I saw your post now, but my hubby is gonna roll his eyes something fierce.)

Snigs, the trees are lovely even if they aren’t to your taste! The little girl in me secretly loves the pink ballerina tree even though the adult in me wants to barf. The wine tree is beautiful, I love the grapes all over it. And the feathers on the top of the tree? Somehow reminds me of the scene in Disneys Peter Pan where Smee tries to give Hook a shave and ends up shaving the seagulls bum instead. That tree needs a shave!

I am the opposite here, I do not like Christmas and I really do not like Christmas trees. To clarify, I like trees other people may have, I just do not like having one in my house. Maybe I will blog about it when the season arrives. :/
